Lucid IT was started in 2004 by Steve Foris.  

Prior to starting Lucid IT, Steve's interest in networks and security led him to work for several well established internet providers, where he developed a passion for the Linux operating system. 

In 2000 he worked as a programmer for a research and development company where he also built and managed the Linux based network, as well as working on special projects with Labview.

In 2003 he was head hunted by a local Auckland based, internet provider that runs entirely on Linux and BSD. He was soley responsible for daily operations, system administration (for the ISP and various clients), as well as help desk services.

In 2004 Steve moved to Wellington establish his own business, Lucid IT.  Lucid has an ever expanding range of clientelle from private law firms to engineering companies to government departments.  Steve works from his home in Aro Valley, as well as onsite and remote access work, he also does occasional contracting jobs where appropriate.
